I Am Not Enough…

To fill your needs.

Heal your wounds.

Or cure your illness.

I’m not enough…

To make it all better.

Make the pain stop.

Or heal your heart.

I’m not enough…

To rewrite the past.

Guarantee the future.

Or make this moment something other than what it is.

I am not enough to do any of the things that are yours to do:

Ask for help.

Feel your feelings.

Take responsibility for your life, your circumstances, your choices and your decisions.

Know what you need and ask for it.

Clean up your own messes.

I am not willing to…

Take on your work, your emotions, your problems.

Fix what you may see as broken.

Lay trips, tell you what to do or how to do it.

Lie to make you feel better or listen to you do it, when it causes you harm.

I am enough to:

Listen deeply as you work things out…a piece at a time.

Open my heart, welcome you in and always, always keep that space for you.

Be present, completely and whole-heartedly for you.

Allow you the wide-open room and space to do whatever will serve you, your life, your soul, YOUR deepest purpose.

Empower you to find your own solutions and inner brilliance.

Love you without condition.

Give you the benefit of the doubt.

Be your cheering section.

Listen.

Listen.

Listen.

And listen.

Be the calm voice of reason.

Tell the truth.

And always, always, always, no matter what, wish you well.

And dear one…I am human

I make mistakes.

I blow it.

I forget.

I may even, most probably will, at some point let you down.

Sometimes my own powerlessness to amend or change circumstances sends me running to my cave to hide, sort things out, lick my wounds and try again.

And I Am Always Enough.

Always.

And So Are You.

So glad that Gia Combs-Ramirez posted a link to your post.

Beautifully written. It so fits with my work which is grounded in Brene Brown’s The Gifts of Imperfection.

Are you familiar with her work? You can see her TED talk videos here: http://heartworkguides.com/brene-brown-the-price-of-invulnerability-and
